• Clothing those in need

Lord, when did we see you ... a stranger needing clothes and clothe you?

  • Feeding the hungry

Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you...

  • prayer changes things

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything pray.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?"
And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" -- Isaiah 6:8

Shepherd Supply Mission

Shepherd Supply Mission is a 501- c3 Public Charity and has faithfully provided various services to the Moody community since 1994.

Shepherd Supply Mission is a faith based ministry. We build healthy, lasting relationships with those that we serve one heart at a time. Shepherd’s Supply is a small ministry with our primary goal being to service our community’s needs with all available resources working towards client independence. We assist families with food, personal hygiene items, cleaning products and furniture (depending upon availability).

Due to Shepherd Supply Mission growth, we are excited to have developed a cooperative partnership with Feeding America that allows us to be a hub to service several Agencies across St Clair County with food. Additionally through a collaborative partnership between Feeding America, Saint Clair County Board of Education, and Shepherd Supply Mission, we serve as a hub for the Weekenders Family Market food program through out some of the St Clair schools.

From Alabama Organ Center ...

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace. 1 Peter 4:10.

Friendly faces – familiar faces. That’s how the Alabama Organ Center feels about the Shepherd Supply stewards.

Every year the Alabama Organ Center hosts its Annual Celebration of Life Picnic. We invite organ donor and tissue donor families, organ recipients and their families, living donors, their recipients and the families, and cornea donor families and recipients and their families. Over 1,900 family members pre-registered for the 2014 Picnic. This is the most that have pre-registered in the history of the Picnic.

We have a program where donor families are invited to present memorials to their loved one; recipients are also invited to speak. We have inflatables for the kids to play on, and lunch. Yes – we serve a free lunch to a couple of thousand folks.

There are so many things that need to be accomplished to make this event successful so the families can celebrate the lives of those who have passed and offered the gift of life and the grateful recipients of those precious gifts.

If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. Isiah 58:10

We first met Shepherd Supply back in 2012 (or was it 2011?) through a donor family and recipient who works with Shepherd Supply. To see over 30 stewards approach the Picnic area and just start putting up tables and chairs, moving pallets of water bottles, setting up the garbage areas; just seeing what needed to be done and doing it! Then, after serving the multitudes of family members, they turned right around and took everything back down.

The Celebration of Life Picnic could not be successful without their help. Our shared goal is to make the Picnic a true celebration of life by providing them the opportunity to appreciate the fellowship of all the families.

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. As it is written, "He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor, and his righteousness endures forever." 2 Corinthians 9:7-9

Through the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food and furniture we will anticipate and meet the needs of families in times of crisis.
